When my guy joined the military it was one of the hardest things I had ever had to deal with, and I wish that someone had told be about what I was getting myself into when he left. So, to help those who are going to be in the same situation that I am in I decided to start this blog telling people about what it's like to be in this type of relationship. In your experience how did your guy change while he was away at basic and AIT? Was it hard for either of you to transition when he got home? These are things I’m nervous about facing my guy leaving soon.
The biggest thing that changed for my guy was his patience. When times got tough and one of us was down we would be more likely to have a fight. After a while we figured out that that was the problem and being more aware of it helped, but it didn’t stop our fighting. Also he swears more.
As far as the transition when he got home, we were a little rocky at first, but as soon as we started spending more time together and got used to being a couple again things picked up to where they left off. Lately it has been like he never left for basic and AIT. The only time we get a reminder of it is when he drills on the weekends, but that is nothing anymore.
