When my guy joined the military it was one of the hardest things I had ever had to deal with, and I wish that someone had told be about what I was getting myself into when he left. So, to help those who are going to be in the same situation that I am in I decided to start this blog telling people about what it's like to be in this type of relationship. So I know that a lot of you are planning on sending your guy a care package while he is gone. Here is a warning, do not do it until your guy knows he can actually receive it, (either before it spoils or at all).
When my guy went to basic I sent him some cookies and banana bread and when he got it he got yelled at because he was not supposed to have anyone send care packages. Some bases are like this and your guy will not know this until he is actually at basic.
When he finally got a chance to eat the food they gave all of it to everyone in his barracks, but did not let him have any of it. The only reason they even let anyone eat the food was because it was going to go bad and the military will not waste free food.
Just make sure that your guy is allowed to receive care packages, and if he is make sure he will not get punished for it by means of push ups and running. Your guy is going to be doing whatever he can to not get in trouble. Make it a little easier on him and check with him first. After all its the thought that counts.
