When my guy joined the military it was one of the hardest things I had ever had to deal with, and I wish that someone had told be about what I was getting myself into when he left. So, to help those who are going to be in the same situation that I am in I decided to start this blog telling people about what it's like to be in this type of relationship. His letters are unbelievably short. I pour my heart into these letters and I'm not getting much back. I know he loves me but do you think it will last? And I'm definitely in love with him. He comes back on July 19th.
I think you’re relationship is fine. In basic they don’t have very much time to write (Usually a half and hour to an hour per week) so I’m sure that he is just running out of time before they are very long. I know that it’s hard to write long letters and not get much left, but it may not be him.

I have a lot of quotes and pictures that I have posted. In face I post one once a week, but I answer questions every chance I can :) It takes a while to find the quotes and make them into a picture or to find a picture.

I answered this a while back and it took a while so here is a copy of what I told someone else a bit ago. I would retype it, but I don’t want to forget anything:
The reserves are less likely to be deployed than actives, but the MOS’ are the same. They are taught the same things and go to the same trainings, the reserves are just more to make sure that there are always soldiers available.
Active military are usually stationed somewhere around the country whereas reserves will stay in whatever state they enlist in.
Reserves can be deployed if they want or if they are needed, but the chances of them going is much smaller than active.
If by reserve you mean something like the national guard, they are not considered reserves. They are considered the active guard. They are sorta a hybrid of the two. They will be deployed as much as the active military, but they will be based at home instead of somewhere within the country.
So to sum up: Active are most likely going to be deployed, reserves stay where they sign up unless they want to be deployed or their MOS is needed, and active guard can be deployed, but all of them receive the same amount and type of training they receive.

Oh all of the time. I don’t usually tell people I’m dating someone in the military unless it comes up. It’s not that I’m not proud or anything like that, I just don’t want to defend our relationship to random strangers.

Milso means: Military Significant Other and there is no typical one. Its pretty much just someone who’s dating someone in the military and that’s about it.
I know it has a negative tone which is why I hate using it.
