When my guy joined the military it was one of the hardest things I had ever had to deal with, and I wish that someone had told be about what I was getting myself into when he left. So, to help those who are going to be in the same situation that I am in I decided to start this blog telling people about what it's like to be in this type of relationship. He’s been gone for a week and I’ve had no way of contacting him.
It’s been hard, but hey I’m strong I can make it.
He’s home near the end of the month, but that seems like forever.
I’m stronger than you think.

Both of my parents were in the army and I know what it's like to have them be gone and to never be around them, but I'm just having a really hard time dealing with my brother being gone. I see how strong you are. It is so inspiring and I was just wondering, how do you do it?
Honestly, I cry a lot and have a lot of days that I am down, but I make sure that I have more days where I am happy than sad. Having him gone is really hard to handle, but its the positives that get me through the day.
Things like going to the movies with my best friend or a concert with my sister. He may not be involved in those things, but they help me pick myself up when I’m down and make it through the next problem.

He will be at a fort for basic, but there is no specific one. He may already know which one. The training that he is doing is to prepare him for basic, but it is not part of basic training.

It really just depends on who’s in charge of this group. My guy was able to write me letters and call me most Sundays, but there were people in the same place as him just with someone else running things and they weren’t allowed anything.

My guy have been together for three years. As far as the whole ex thing goes I didn’t have any problems with his exs, but mine never really treated me the best so he had a very hard time with him. I didn’t live very far away from my ex so he was always trying to get back together even though my guy and I were already dating.

If it were me I would contact them and let them know because they have to be aware that there is someone else joining them for all of the events. I think that if you said hi my name is “insert your name here” and I’m dating your son and seeing him at graduation. You guys can start talking and grow a little closer when things get hard again. After all its better to get any drama (if there is any) out before you go and see him.
